A chef will teach students at Dunleith Elementary School about nutrition and cooking at a celebration Thursday of a new homework center there.

It is among several such centers funded by SCANA Energy in schools across Georgia. The centers, staffed by teachers, offer a place for students to do homework and learn to study.

The non-profit group Cooking Matters will run the demonstration from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the school, 120 Saine Drive SW in Marietta.
