Video surveillance shows two women trying to use a credit card belonging to an Early County man reported missing Jan. 29, police said.
Kim Lucas, a spokesperson for Conyers police, said the unidentified women tried to use 55-year-old Thomas Entrekin's credit card at an Atlanta Kroger on Moreland Avenue the morning of Jan. 9.
Entrekin's brown Ford F-150 pickup truck, which had been reported stolen, was later seen during a Jan. 27 home invasion attempt, Lucas said.
The resident identified a female suspect who earlier that morning knocked on his door to ask for a jump, police said. The resident agreed to assist her, but, once outside, the suspect said she didn’t need help anymore as her friend was able to get a jump.
When Conyers investigators ran the tag on the truck, they learned it belonged to Entrekin, but did not know at what point the suspects took possession of the truck.
Sgt. Chase Bagwell spotted the truck and temporarily gave chase, but as speeds reached 100 mph, he discontinued following as rush hour traffic in the area was beginning to pick up, Lucas said.
Three men were arrested Monday after crashing Entrekin's truck, police said. They were charged with burglary, home invasion, possession of stolen property and evading police, but the female suspect has not yet been identified.
