The McDonough City Council voted at its April 15 regular meeting to approve a $14,900 contract with Mallett Consulting for a review of 23 buildings and sites across the city focusing on Americans with Disabilities Act regulations and a plan for compliance.

Locations on the list include several parks, pedestrian areas around the square, city police and fire stations, areas around City Hall and other municipal buildings. The council also heard a presentation from the McDonough Housing Authority about its need to expand and increase senior housing, passing a motion to move forward with the development of a master plan concept study in that regard for review at the council’s May 2 meeting.

The votes on both matters were unanimous.
