The Alpharetta City Council has accepted an engineering consultant’s $46,000 proposal to prepare detailed design drawings for three bridges over Ga. 400.

Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. has been working with Alpharetta, the North Fulton Community Improvement District and Georgia Department of Transportation on proposed improvements for the Kimball Bridge Road, Webb Bridge Road and Tradewinds bridges over Ga. 400, staff said in a report to the council.

Kimley-Horn now will develop conceptual-level plan and elevation drawings for each bridge; conceptual-level line drawings for such bridge elements as columns and walls; and final design standards and drawings, staff said.

“The design team and Public Works (are) working alongside GDOT in preparation of the (request for proposals) GDOT is going to be issuing later this summer,” staff said. “Work associated with Kimley Horn’s proposal will be accomplished to meet the June 30 deadline.”
