A worker was conscious and breathing while being rescued from the seventh floor of a building under construction after a work-related injury Monday, according to DeKalb fire spokesman Capt. Eric Jackson.

Jackson said the workers were atop a midrise building in the 1200 block of Lake Hearn Drive when the accident happened. Officials do not yet know how the injury happened.

The man was lowered in a construction crane to an ambulance and taken to the hospital, where he is in stable condition, Jackson said.

Construction resumed once the scene was clear.
