Folks driving on Old Alabama Road in Roswell will notice construction on the road in the coming weeks.

Workers and developers, in coordination with the city, will be starting work on a multi-lane roundabout on Old Alabama Road. It will be built near the new Riverwalk townhome development between Riverside Drive and Market Boulevard.

The new roundabout will be part of the entrance to the development, which is expected to be built over the next four to six months, according to the city.

Construction on the roundabout will take place during off-peak hours — from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — to minimize its impact on traffic. Temporary lane closures will take place at various times during the construction.

The roundabout and new traffic patterns should be operational sometime this winter, the city says.
