In July, the Georgia Department of Transportation selected a contractor for intersection improvements in Snellville at Main Street/U.S. 78 and Scenic Highway/S.R. 124. The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase includes improvements to Henry Clower Boulevard at each end where Henry Clower Blvd. meets U.S. 78, and where Henry Clower Blvd. meets Scenic Highway.

The second phase includes improvements to the intersection of U.S. 78 and S.R. 124 to create a continuous flow for traffic. Once completed, the intersection will operate with displaced left turn lanes.

The project is anticipated to take 18 to 24 months for completion. Current activity includes storm drain improvements and utility relocation. Atlanta Gas Light’s contractor, Southeast Connections, recently began am 11-week project to relocate the gas line in front of Snellville Methodist Church on Highway 78.

Drivers may access full details about the project at www.snellville.org/highway-78-and-124-intersection.
