An addition is planned for the Douglas County Transportation Center along with Connect Douglas tours and training.
A groundbreaking event will take place at 9 a.m. Nov. 4 to mark the beginning of construction for a 6,000 square-foot-addition to the center at 8800 Dorris Road, Douglasville.
Hosts will be Connect Douglas Transit Services through the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.
Connect Douglas also is offering informational tours of one or all four bus routes to any business, nonprofit, governmental, school or social services agency.
In addition, travel training involves complete “how-to” sessions on the new Connect Douglas bus service.
Any group wanting to arrange a tour of one or all four routes should contact Connect Douglas Transit Services Coordinator Jemal Sheppard at jsheppard@co.douglas.ga.us.
Requests for a travel training session should be addressed to Mobility Programs Assistant Jessica Hundley at jhundly@co.douglas.ga.us.
