“Stilt fishing is a traditional fishing method in Sri Lanka that requires much skill and balance,” wrote Joan Borchardt of Brookhaven. “We saw these fisherman perched on poles on the southern coast near Unawantana Beach. Although this fishing method is a vanishing craft and dying tradition, you can find some locals that are still happy to pose to entertain the tourists.”
