A special Cobb County schools committee will hold a meeting to hear naming proposals for the new Smyrna elementary school. The "Name Selection Committee" will meet at 6 p.m. on July 17 at Brown Elementary School at 3265 Brown Rd. in Smyrna. Community members will be given three to five minutes to present to the committee a name for the school currently under construction. The committee will propose three of the suggested names by Sept. 28 to the superintendent who will make a final proposal to the board of education.
