Gwinnett County Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve a negotiated $1.4 million settlement of all pending litigation with Old Peachtree Partners LLC. The agreement stems from an ongoing battle since 2008 over the county’s attempts to purchase land for the extension of McGinnis Ferry Road.

What began as an effort to purchase right-of-way for a sewer line and road turned into a dispute over land value that ultimately led to a legal battle between the county and property owner.

The approved settlement is funded by the 2005, 2009 and 2014 SPLOST programs.
