Fulton County Commissioner Emma Darnell said Wednesday the commission needs to look at top-level employees in some departments who may be abusing a county practice that permits them to work just four hours but get paid for an entire day’s work.

Fulton Personnel Director Paris Brown said employees exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act  are allowed to work a half day at the discretion of their supervisor.  The discretion came about after the county eliminated comp time for exempt employees.
