The Alpharetta Planning Commission considers a draft plan for the city’s downtown area developed after a series of public meetings and almost a year’s worth of work during the commission meeting 7:30 p.m. Thursday in city council chambers, 2 Park Plaza.

The plan covers an area bounded by Mayfield Road and Canton Street to the north, South Main Street and Allyson Circle to the south, Wills Road to the west and Westside Parkway to the east. It envisions a slate of mixed-used developments, parking changes including some metered parking downtown, new streets and additional green space.

The document will then be considered by the city council on Feb. 23.
