What roadside sights greet Forsyth County commuters as they use the county’s major thoroughfares? The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will consider several issues related to that at their meeting 5 p.m. Thursday at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming.

Up for approval is sending out a request for proposals for companies interested in doing as-needed trash pickup along roads in Forsyth County, including a stretch of Ga. 369 in northeast Forsyth. Commissioners noted that trash apparently coming from vehicles headed to a nearby landfill had become a problem along the highway between Ga. 400 and Old Federal Road.

Commissioners also have a slate of public hearings planned, including on proposed changes to the county’s sign ordinance. The proposals would establish regulation of electronic message boards, and increase the frequency of allowable copy changes.

Commissioners will also consider possible alterations to the county’s tree protection ordinance.
