A request for a C-3 highway commercial zoning was tabled Feb. 20 by the Henry County Board of Commissioners after a motion to approve a C-1 neighborhood commercial zoning failed due to a tie vote.

The request was for commercial/business offices on a 2.18-acre site on Mt. Olive Road, north of Jonesboro Road and behind the Henry Town Center retail complex. Dee Clemmons moved to deny the C-3 request and grant C-1 zoning, and she was joined by Bruce Holmes and Blake Prince in support of that motion. Chair June Wood along with commissioners Johnny Wilson and Gary Barham voted in opposition.

The subsequent motion to table the matter passed unanimously.
