The Georgia Department of Transportation is accepting public comments regarding planned improvements to Peachtree City’s most congested intersection, but only until Feb. 2.

GDOT held a public information open house on Thursday at the Peachtree City Library, where traffic experts answered questions about changes to the configuration of Ga. 74/54, as illustrated by two large maps and a video simulation. The proposed plan would add displaced left turn lanes, dedicated right turn lanes and additional traffic signals to improve traffic flow, mostly going westbound toward Coweta County. It would also alter one entrance to The Avenue shopping center.

Diagrams and other details are posted at www.dot.ga.gov/AboutGDOT/PublicOutreach, under Recently Held Public Meetings; choose “view info” for PI No. 0013726 PIOH 1/23/20. Comments can be sent via that page or by mail to Eric Duff, GDOT, 600 W. Peachtree St. NW, 16th Floor, Atlanta, GA 30308.
