A popular College Park restaurant was destroyed in a fire that burned for nearly 24 hours.

Hodges Legends Fine Foods on Old National Highway caught on fire around 5 p.m. Wednesday and continued into the afternoon Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Witness Elizabeth Green told Channel 2 a band was getting ready to rehearse when they saw smoke coming out of the wall after plugging in their equipment.

“So they unplugged all their instruments,” she said. “They got all their instruments and speakers out except one speaker.”

Fire officials said they had the fire confined to a subceiling but were unable to reach it with their hoses, Channel 2 reported. They decided to tear down the structure and knock out hot spots in the hopes it would not reignite.

No one was hurt.
