The city of College Park Mayor has renamed its municipal court building for the Honorable Judge Rowland W. Barnes, recognizing the legacy of the longtime College Park resident.

Barnes was shot to death in March 2005.

A renaming ceremony is set for 6 p.m. today at College Park’s Municipal Court, 3717 College Street, inside the Public Safety Building. College Park Mayor Jack P. Longino will preside over the ceremony, and College Park council, the Barnes family, and College Park Municipal Court Judge Monica Ewing will be present.
