The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday upheld the Fulton County murder conviction against Mark Thornton for the shooting death of a 24-year-old man during a College Park home invasion.

Thornton was convicted for the 2008, killing of Joshua Scott, who was making a sandwich in his home when men kicked in his door. Thornton planned to rob Scott, his drug supplier, because he thought he would have a large amount of money and drugs. Because he did not want Scott to recognize him, Thornton recruited other men to commit the crime and drove them to the house, the ruling said.
