College Park to discuss architectural services for new facility

College Park’s upcoming City Council meeting is slated to include discusion of a request for staff to negotiate architectural design services for the city’s new multipurpose facility.

The 3,500 seat arena, to be built near the convention center complex, is where the Atlanta Hawks’ D-League team will call home, starting in the 2019-2020 season.

At the January regular session, the mayor and council agreed to defer the item until the Feb. 6 meeting.

The College Park city council recently approved a request from the convention center’s executive director for an agreement between the city and Spectra Venue Management for consulting services and revenue analysis for the arena. The agreement includes a cap on travel expenses.
