Several hundred College Park residents erroneously received letters from a collection agency regarding their electricity bill being delinquent. In a recent city council meeting, Mayor Jack Longino, said he himself received dozens of calls from concerned residents, who were afraid their power would be cut off, possibly during a quickly-turning frosty autumn.

The collection agency in question has been directed to issue letters to all who had wrongly received the original letters as quickly as possible, and the council discussed what could be done to avoid such an error in the future.
