“Coffee with a Cop” Fundraiser for Officer Price

DeKalb’s next “Coffee with a Cop” is a fundraiser to help one of its own police officers battling cancer.
Residents can attend the fundraiser to benefit DeKalb County Police Officer Darrel Price from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dunkin Donuts at 2555 Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur.
Price, a nine-year veteran of the police force, was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in April of this year. He immediately began treatment as the cancer spread to lymph nodes in his stomach. The recently married father of three is currently on medical leave from the department.
Five percent of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Price's medical care.
This “Coffee with a Cop” fundraiser is being sponsored by Commissioner Larry Johnson and the Heart of South DeKalb.
