The McCleskey-East Cobb YMCA will hold free youth swim checks on Sunday as part of a Water Wise Initiative.

The initiative includes free swim lessons to lower-income, local apartment communities and free monthly swim checks at the YMCA for parents to assess their child’s swimming ability. Every child by 2nd grade news to know how to swim, said the center’s executive director.

The swim checks for children ages 3-18 run from 11 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the YMCA, 1055 E. Piedmont Rd. in Marietta. No registration required. Children should bring a towel, swimsuit and goggles
