The site for a new Cobb Veterans Memorial was approved recently by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.
This memorial will be built at 520 Fairground St. behind the Cobb County Central Aquatic Center.
The commissioners also agreed to move forward with the memorial’s design.
Formed in 2014 by Commission Chairman Tim Lee, the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation is comprised of local community leaders who have served in the military and county staff.
Now a 501(c)(3) organization, the nonprofit has plans to begin fundraising for the memorial.
