To celebrate Earth Day, Cobb County’s transportation department will unveil a new roads project designed with new green energy technology.

The event on April 21, is part of the department’s Preserving Environment and Community Heritage (PEACH) Roads program aimed at incorporating environmentally friendly initiatives into roads projects, including solar power and adaptive signal timing.

The unveiling of the first PEACH Roads project begins at 2 p.m. at 4400 Roswell Road in Marietta, in the  LA Fitness parking lot.
