Authorities have reopened a stretch of Lower Roswell Road that was closed due to a damaged gas line, Cobb County officials say.

Commissioner Bob Ott sent out an email alert to constituents about 1:20 p.m. saying traffic had resumed along the portion of Lower Roswell between Shadowlawn Road and Indian Hills Trail.

Ott sent the original email at 11:45 a.m. saying the road had been shut down. He estimated crews would be repairing the line for the next two to three hours.

There has been construction in the area for a Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority project, according to a county traffic map.
