A code enforcement sweep will be conducted by Cobb County and Smyrna code officials on Aug. 17.

They will concentrate on Old Concord Road and Church Street, according to Ken Suddreth, Smyrna Community Development director.

Suddreth said these joint sweeps are conducted along the city’s boundary on an as-needed basis, averaging twice a year.

Code officials are looking for such violations of city ordinances as building code violations, unsafe structures, work without a permit, zoning violations, trash, tall grass, parking in yards, no business license, abandoned vehicles, exterior accumulation of personal property and illegal signs.
