Cobb County Sheriff’s Office officials warn residents not to donate to an individual seeking donations by phone on behalf of local law enforcement.

Numerous reports have been received by the sheriff’s office of residents receiving these calls, claiming the money will be used to buy uniforms and help with salaries.

Sheriff Neil Warren said in a statement that anyone receiving such a call should not provide any personal information or make a donation.
