Cobb Senior Services officials are seeking donations of essentials to Cobb senior citizens in need.

Needed are shelf-stable foods, which are items that can be heated in the microwave or not heated at all, according to a county statement.

Also needed are peanut butter (small jars), canned chicken or tuna, canned soups (small cans or cups) and small bags of cat food.

No glass containers or large or family-size items should be donated.

Donations also are being accepted of new crossword puzzles, word scrambles, coloring books and other activities for Cobb homebound senior citizens.

Monetary contributions also are being received.

To set up a time to deliver donations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only, call Merline Tippens at 770-528-2009.
