The Cobb County School District has sent nearly 7,900 contracts to certified teachers for the 2017-18 school year.

This number is reportedly the earliest for any school system in Georgia history and about a week earlier than the district issued them last year, according to a CCSD statement.

Also, for the first time, CCSD is issuing the contracts electronically to speed the process and save an estimated $75,000 in time, printing, notarization and distribution costs.

“Issuing contracts this early accomplishes two vital strategic goals,” CCSD Deputy Chief of Human Resources and Operations John Adams said. “It allows us to hire earlier than any other district to get ‘first crack’ at the best candidates and permits us to further improve teacher morale and school climate by reducing any uncertainty among our great teachers.”
