Cobb residents who want to learn more about their Department of Public Safety can now sign up for the agency’s Citizens Public Safety Academy.
This 15-week course, which begins in April, is open to residents who are at least 21 years old and live and work in Cobb. The spring class is also open to employees of the Cobb County government or the school district.
Class participants will get an inside look at various aspects of the department, including police and fire, animal services and 911 operations.
Applications can be obtained via email or in person at the Cobb County Department of Public Safety Training Center at 2109 Valor Drive in Marietta. Once received, the document must be dropped off by 3 p.m. Monday, March 25 at the Cobb County Public Safety Internal Affairs Department at 1150 Powder Springs Street Suite 300 in Marietta. The first class begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 2.
