Cobb County Schools is seeking public opinion on a new operating system for the 114 schools in the district. A hearing on the Investing in Educational Excellence System, will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the district central office, 514 Glover St., Marietta. After the hearing, Cobb’s Board of Education will vote before submitting a contract for the new system with the State Board of Education. The system will allow the district freedom from Title 1 provisions, $44 million in state waivers and more local control.
