The Cobb County School District will host its fourth annual Community Connections Resource Fair for students with special needs.

The event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at Wheeler High School’s gym.

Representatives from more than 50 organizations around Cobb County and Atlanta will share details about what they can offer to parents and students.

Cobb schools parent Beth Foy said the fair allowed her to learn about the variety of sports programs offered to students with disabilities.

Her daughter participated in a bowling program and “had a great time with the buddies provided by the organization which gave her opportunities for interaction with typically developing peers,” she said.

Another parent, Emily Riggs, said the fair “opened the door” to new activities her son could explore. He had the opportunity to attend a summer camp that accommodated his “significant level of disability.” She plans to sign her son up for the summer camp this year.

Wheeler High School is located at 375 Holt Road in Marietta. Parents can sign up to attend the free fair by clicking here.
