Cobb schools don't cut food prices

The cost for reduced-price meals in the Cobb County schools is not going down.

The school system released incorrect information this week about the cost of reduced-price breakfasts, saying they were dropping considerably from the last school year.

Those breakfasts will remain at 30 cents, said Doug Goodwin, a school system spokesman. Reduced-price lunches are still 40 cents.

Goodwin said Cobb is passing along prices established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The federal agency also raised the income thresholds for qualifying, he said.

The county is mailing application forms to parents.
