The public comment policy has been eased by the Cobb County Board of Education.

Board members voted 7-0 Feb. 15 to allow community speakers to have two to five minutes as determined by the chair - no longer just one minute as was granted last year by Board Chair David Chastain on one occasion.

While no more than 15 speakers will be allowed at any meeting, the board members - not just the board chair - can decide whether they want to allow more time.

Also, speakers will need to be aware that their comments are being broadcast live on COBB edTV.
