Runoff elections were decided in three Cobb cities on Dec. 5.
- Austell: Marlin Lamar was chosen rather than Ikaika Anderson for Ward 1 to replace Kirsten Anderson who decided not to seek re-election after 12 years to look after her parents. Lamar received 65.67 percent or 88 votes to Anderson's 34.33 percent or 46 votes.
- Marietta: Cheryl Richardson was chosen instead of Jay Davis for Ward 1 to replace Stuart Fleming who decided not to seek re-election after one term. Richardson received 57.56 percent or 99 votes to the 42.44 percent or 73 votes of Davis.
- Smyrna: Maryline Blackburn was selected instead of Travis Lindley for Ward 3. Blackburn replaces Teri Anulewicz who resigned after 10 years to run for the vacancy left by State Rep. Stacey Evans, D-Smyrna, to run for governor. Anulewicz, D-Smyrna, was certified the winner on Nov. 13 by the Cobb County Board of Elections for Georgia House District 42 since she had no opposition. Blackburn had 53.79 percent or 511 votes to Lindley's 46.21 percent or 439 votes.
These results await certification by the Cobb County Board of Elections.
