The Cobb County Board of Commissioners agreed Tuesday to accept a $1,764 federal grant to assist in case of a national disaster involving terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

This money will be used for ongoing expenses to maintain communications equipment.

Cobb has been receiving these annual federal grants since 2004.

The county first used the money to buy 58 900 MHz cellular telephones with private, secured, direct-connect features and global positioning system locator capabilities.
