If you’re one of those drivers who doesn’t know what to do at a Cobb railroad crossing, the government has heard your unsure groans.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is spending $300,000 to fix railroad crossings throughout Cobb, Cherokee and Pickens counties.

Upgrades include new signs and fresh pavement markings that might alleviate the stress.

The project was advertised for a bid in November, received a bid in December and was awarded to Columbus-based Peek Pavement Marking. The price ended up at $292,243.08.

The estimated completion date is May 31, 2018.

There will be road closures because of this project, but GDOT will keep you in the loop on those.

If railroads are still confusing or you want a refresher, here's a state-by-state guide from AAA.
