The Cobb County Board of Commissioners agreed 5-0 Tuesday to spend $567,275 to improve Mableton Parkway for pedestrians.

American Engineers Inc. was awarded the contract for engineering design services.

The 2.38-mile project will consist of a 10-foot-wide trail on the west side of Mableton Parkway and a five-foot-wide sidewalk on the east side from Discovery Boulevard to Factory Shoals Road.
