Police in Cobb County are still looking for three suspects who reportedly opened fire on a police officer in Marietta on Wednesday.

Police had swarmed a neighborhood near Marietta Wednesday, looking for the suspects who a witness said opened fire on the officer, according to Cobb police spokesman Mike Bowman.

Bowman said the officer tried to pull over a silver Dodge Magnum, but the vehicle sped off on I-75.

“The officer was called off of the pursuit. The vehicle was found later near a business on Franklin Road,” Bowman said. He said the police have recovered the vehicle, and believe the suspects fled on foot.

A witnesses reported seeing the occupants of the Dodge fire on the officer.
