Cobb police are asking the public to help investigators identify a man accused of robbing a bank in Marietta.
Officers responded to the robbery at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 5 at Wells Fargo at 2675 Windy Hill Road in Marietta. Authorities say a man entered the bank and passed the teller a note demanding money.
The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, the police department said. Cobb police say the man appears to be between 40 and 50 years old, and was wearing a ball cap and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.
This is the second reported bank robbery within a week at a Wells Fargo branch in Cobb County. Last week, a woman walked into Wells Fargo at 1547 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta, passed the teller a note stating she had a bomb and demanded cash. The woman, identified as Atlanta resident Sandra Yvonne Daniel fled the bank, but police tracked down her vehicle and made a traffic stop near Delk Road and Bentley Way.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity or the robbery is asked to call the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3945.
