The Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved 5-0 Tuesday extensive renovations at two parks, totaling $3.25 million.

Wild Horse Creek Park, 3720 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs will receive a new BMX building, an octagon building, crosstie wall replacement and field renovation for $1,862,871 with the low bidder being Sports Turf Company Inc.

Sweat Mountain Park, 4346 Steinhauer Road, Marietta will have a new concession building, field renovation, tennis court upgrade and dog park improvements for $1,388,097, going to the second lowest “responsible” bidder, Integrated Construction and Nobility Inc.

The lowest bidder was Archimetric Design and Construction at $1,321,947 — a $66,150 difference.

Funding will come from the 2011 special purpose local option sales tax.
