Cobb County has approved a $1.1 million right of way contract with the Georgia Department of Transportation to continue a trail project from Interstate North Parkway to Terrell Mill Road.

The southern portion of the Bob Callan Trail is complete. The total $13.5 million trail will run four miles from Terrell Mill to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

The paved cyling and walking trail is part of a 25-mile trail network in the Cumberland area. Funding comes from the Cumberland Community Improvement District, Cobb County and federal funds. The northern segment should open in 2017.
