Water main replacements, totaling nearly $3.37 million, were approved recently by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners:

  • $1,154,035 to Steele & Associates for Rockin Hill Manor subdivision along Rocking Hill Lane, Dorris Drive, Rockin Hill Drive, Long Drive, Otis Circle, Monument Court, Toni Place and Walton Way.
  • $1,805,416 to Georgia Development Partners along Sanford Drive, Worley Drive, Brackett Road, Rich Road, Housley Road, Glendale Drive, Skyview Lane, Jaycee Drive, Umland Road, Piedmont Drive, Piedmont Circle and Penland Drive in the Piedmont Heights, Sky View, Brackett Estate and Glendale subdivisions.
  • $408,655 to K. M. Davis Contracting Co. for Creveis Road, Sherwood Trail and Wanda Lane.

Six-inch ductile iron pipes will replace the 2.5-inch polyvinyl chloride and galvanized steel pipes and six-inch transite water mains that are subject to periodic failure and ongoing repair demands, according to the county.
