Cobb offers updates on Cumberland roadway projects

Cobb County has released an update on four roadway improvement projects in the Cumberland Community Improvement District near SunTrust Park.

Cobb Parkway at I-285 westbound off-ramp and Spring Road/Circle 75 Parkway thoroughfare improvements: March completion is anticipated for widening existing dual left-turn lanes from Cobb Parkway to westbound Spring Road to create triple left-turn lanes. The turn lanes on the I-285 westbound ramp will be lengthened, and an additional barrier-separated turn lane from the I-285 westbound off ramp to Circle 75 Parkway will be added. Wider sidewalks also will be constructed.

Windy Hill Road at I-75 Diverging Diamond Interchange thoroughfare improvements: June completion is expected for this new interchange that will mean motorists no longer will have to make left-hand turns to access the interstate.

I-285 multi-use bridge thoroughfare improvements: August completion is due for this bridge, spanning Galleria Drive, I-285 and Circle 75 Parkway that will connect the Cumberland Galleria area with the new Battery Atlanta Development.

Windy Ridge Parkway bridge pedestrian improvements: Fall completion is expected as the existing bridge is being widened to provide easier pedestrian access and green space.
