Cobb County commissioners Thursday voted to move forward with plans to build a new $2.56 million air traffic control tower to replace the existing structure at McCollum Field. The commission agreed to move forward with a site study and to invite companies to apply. Half of the project will be funded through federal grants, and a small portion through state revenue, putting Cobb’s share at $1.25 million.
