The Cobb and Marietta police departments will join forces with Cobb County Safety Village to host the first-ever Rad Kids Summer Camp.

Rad Kids is a safety program to educate children about personal empowerment. Some of the topics covered include how to prevent bullying and staying safe on the internet or at home, school, in a vehicle or outdoors.

Instructors will also cover various tricks used by predators, and teach children techniques they can use to fight off possible abduction attempts.

The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10-13 at Cobb County Safety Village. The cost is $80, and the camp will be divided into two groups: children who are 5 to 7 year old and youngsters aged 8 to 12.

You can register 5 to 7 year old children by clicking here. Registration for 8 to 12 year old kids is available at this link.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
