Twelve Cobb County businesses were cited as selling alcohol to an underage person last week.

Cobb County police and sheriff's deputies joined together to check 33 businesses Thursday, and they cited seven. Marietta police also performed a similar operation on Friday, checking 23 businesses and citing five.

Some of the businesses were randomly selected, and others were chosen in response to residents' complaints about serving alcohol to minors.

The businesses cited in unincorporated Cobb County as furnishing alcohol to an underage volunteer were: Sunoco at 2315 Dallas Highway in Marietta; Li’s Asian Cuisine at 3451 Barrett Parkway in Marietta; Koala Express at 1280 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta; Merchants Package at 1272 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta; Cobb Parkway Food Mart at 3129 Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw; Rafferty’s at 2501 Cobb Place Lane in Kennesaw; and Tilted Kilt at 780 Cobb Place Blvd. in Kennesaw.

The businesses cited by Marietta police were: Fast Trip at 1045 Franklin Road; the Convenient Store at 1405 Cobb Parkway; Café Alice at 2092 Cobb Parkway; Ruby Tuesday at 2435 Delk Road; and Spaghetti Warehouse at 2475 Delk Road.
