A Cobb County man died from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Mableton.

Clarence Chadwick, 86, of Marietta, died Friday at WellStar Cobb Hospital, Cobb police said.

Cobb police say the collision was reported around 8:31 a.m. Nov. 15 on Mableton Parkway at Bonanza Trail. According to a preliminary report, a 2010 red Ford Ranger was traveling eastbound on Mableton Parkway towards Bonanza Trail while a 2011 tan Chevrolet Traverse was approaching the intersection from the west.

The Ford pickup truck was making a left turn onto Bonanza Trail when it was hit on its passenger side by the Chevrolet, Cobb police said.

The Ford, driven by Chadwick, rolled on to its driver’s side and slid on the shoulder of Mableton Parkway. The truck “rode a guide wire that was attached to a power pole, and came to a final rest with the rear of the truck in an elevated position,” Cobb police added.

The 55-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The collision remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Cobb County police at 770-499-3987.
