Cobb County's Community Development Block Grant program staff and the City of Smyrna will host CDBG Day on Tuesday to highlight the success of the program.

The county's CDBG office administers several federal grant programs through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Since its beginning in Cobb in 1982, the program has brought in more than $85 million for the county and its cities to fund a mix of after-school programs, housing, homeless shelters, senior services and transportation.

The celebration begins at 11 a.m. at the City of Smyrna's Community Center, 200 Village Green Circle.
